Hi, I'm DeAnna Aschwanden CD(DONA)
I will never forget the day in 2015, when I was blessed enough to photograph my first birth. Having worked as a teacher for 17 years, and a photographer for 8, documenting this beautiful event ignited a passion within me.
During that birth, as I was photographing, I found myself instinctively trying to help ease my client's concerns and get more comfortable. One of the nurses pulled me aside that day and said "You know I think you'd be a really great doula, you should look into it". Up until that point I had never heard of a doula. When I got home I hopped on the computer and did my research. From that day forward I knew at some point I wanted to pursue my desire to become a birth doula.
My daughter graduated high school in 2018. I realized as she was pursuing a new chapter in her life, it was time for me to pursue mine as well. After completing my DONA birth certification, I am ready to support you with the resources necessary to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth. Continuing to adapt to every birth, as no two are the same, I have gained wisdom and knowledge from observing each of these miracles. My goal is to make you feel heard and supported in a way that will empower you to advocate for yourself during your journey into parenthood. This precious time in your life will be ingrained as an everlasting memory and I would be honored to be your birth doula.
